MICHAEL BENNALLACK HART
Michael Bennallack Hart began his career designing and illustrating film posters and record sleeves, and painting landscapes and sports scenes. In the '70s and '80s he worked as an advertising art director and illustrator, whilst continuing to paint and exhibited in New York.

His work is prized by collectors for its mastery of atmosphere, his evocation of nature's beauty, and his brilliant sense of composition. He follows in the tradition of the Romantic landscape painters of the nineteenth century, but with his own contemporary and unique style, setting him apart as one of Britain's leading artists.

"Michael Bennallack Hart has a particular feeling for the solidity of landscape: the white mass of a chalk cliff, the solid shapes of clipped hedges, heavy dark blocks of foliage. It lends an impressive and individual quality of weight and calm to his work, and an elegiac serenity." Jane Ross, "The Week"

His work is held in private, public and corporate collections around the world.
